“I am not ashamed of the gospel”,but, the question is - are you? Living in a society where Christians are looked over and scoffed at, we are under pressure to keep quiet about our great and mighty God, who we love. One man of God who could not keep quiet about the gospel was Joshua. He continually told us that we cannot be ashamed, embarrassed, nor let the Word of God ever leave our mouth.
I agree with Joshua, that for me and my house, we will serve the living God. While in Canada, we were with a couple who are Gideons. This ministry gives away over a hundred-thousand bibles a year, for they are not ashamed of the gospel. While in Golden, B.C this couple provided bibles for us to give to the newly saved Christians.
After seeing the response of the people receiving the bibles, I knew why Psalms 89:1 says: “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.” It is an exciting thing to let all generations hear the “faithfulness” of our Lord. I am not ashamed of the gospel and I will never let the gospel depart from my mouth.
When we put the bible first in our vocabulary then we will see the Word alive in our lives.
