Recently, I have started college at Regent University. Things have been extremely busy, to say the least, because I am still traveling and completing my senior year of high school. One of my first classes with Regent is Western Civilization. It is the foundation of all history with a Christian basis.

In the second chapter, we learned about the Hebrews and their civilization. I was surprised to learn that the walls of Jericho were six feet six inches thick at the base and in some places twenty feet high. As we all know, the walls were seemingly impenetrable, but with God all things are possible!

How many of us need some walls to come down? We all need a new day with a clear path, but our walls are getting in the way. At times our walls feel just as thick, if not thicker, then the walls of Jericho. However, if we obey the clear guideline that God gave in Joshua 6:10-20, we will see our thick and high walls come tumbling down. The bible gives us clear instruction on how to see breakthrough.

(1) Stop Talking - the people were not aloud to speak in order to keep them from questioning what had been promised to them by God. We also have something promised to us by God and unless we guard our mouth, we will not see it.

(2) Stand Your Ground - they marched around the city claiming it as their own. We must claim our life and promises as our own as well.

(3) Shout Unto God with A Voice of Triumph - in verse 20 we see breakthrough that will only come by praise and worship. This reminds me of Paul and Silas in Acts 16:16-39. Even though the bottom of their feet were beaten, and they were shackled and thrown into a dark dungeon, filled with human waste, they still lifted up a song of praise to God. In verse 25, we see that SUDDENLY (another great teaching, I will do at another time) the prison walls began to shake and their chains fell off.

They were FREE! When we praise, sing, shout and lift up our lives as an offering unto God, we will see the walls in our lives come down and we will also be FREE! So, join me and “Let everything that hath breath
Praise the Lord.” Psalms 150:1-6.
